The Power of Shakeology

Just wanted to share my story.....It is no secret that my whole life I have struggled with high cholesterol. I had it as a young child. As I got older it was out of control. It was as high as 330. I was put on Cholesterol meds and they didn't work. I went to a dietitian and cardio specialist. They put me on a high dose of Crestor and 4 triple strength fish oil pills a day. I even ate more of a vegan diet. No that didn't work either. The best I could get it was 250. Still high. It was starting to go back up again. A friend of mine told me to try Shakeology. I honestly thought "yeah right that isn't going to work". I thought I would give it the benefit of the doubt and try it for a couple of months. I did and to my surprise my cholesterol went from 270 to 174. It has NEVER been that LOW EVER!!!!!. The way I look at it.....I would rather drink ShakeO than have open heart surgery. But that is just me.
Challenge Groups Work

Staying healthy and in shape is a perpetual challenge. It can be hard to find the time and even harder to find the motivation. When I met Doug two years ago my proverbial tank was empty. And between work, play and more work, I had as many excuses as there are hours in the day. I kept telling myself I just didn't have the time and that seemed acceptable.
Coach Wooggy, Team Beachbody and Shakeology helped me get back on the wagon. My first workout challenge was P90X with a group of people whom I now consider good friends, including Coach Chris! The workout routine itself was great but it was the support that really made the difference. And Shakeology was the glue that held everything together!
Diets are garbage. They don't work because you have to alter your fundamental desires and often deprive yourself of the foods you enjoy. Shakeology is the "anti-diet" because not only is it good for you but it tastes great. While you can mix it up with endless combinations of extras I preferred to enjoy my Chocolate Shakeology 'au naturale' which has only 160 calories per serving. The official regimen is to replace one meal a day but in the beginning I would replace both breakfast and lunch whenever possible. Combined with a few necessary snakes throughout the day (piece of fruit, protein bar, etc) I never consumed more than 500 calories before dinner and my goal was to stay under 2200 cal/day. This allowed me to enjoy a hearty dinner every night consisting of virtually whatever I wanted and still stay under my daily limit! It did not even seem like I was dieting.
What I did was a little outside the box but it worked for me. And that is the important part. Such routines are only sustainable when you find one that works for you. The beauty of the Team Beachbody programs with Shakeology is the flexibility to do just that. This winter I am starting a new workout program: Shaun T's Focus T-25 because... "It's about time baby!" My challenge pack with Vanilla Shake-O came this week. I didn't think Shake-O could get any better but somehow the guys at Beachbody have outdone themselves yet again!
